“Upon visiting campus in my senior year of high school, I met the students of the Bentley Microfinance Group and immediately recognized the motivation and drive that each member possessed. Thus, I joined BMG as a freshman because I felt that this organization was one in which I could see myself develop and apply my strengths, all while encouraging the advancement of local businesses in the Greater Boston area. Linking concepts that I am learning in the classroom to the real world problems that our clients face has truly enhanced my undergraduate education and has been the most rewarding experience of my college career thus far.”

“I joined BMG in my freshman year because I was very interested in applying what I was learning in accounting and finance to the loan underwriting analysis. Later on, I realized that BMG is not only about analyzing financial statements of small business, but more importantly about making a positive impact in the community. The real-life experience is what motivated me to be part of the E-board and work hard to provide our clients with superior services, and to our students members with the most rewarding and exciting experience in college. Thanks to BMG, I have been able to develop in-demand skills that have helped me succeed academically and professionally throughout my college experience.”

“I first joined the Bentley Microfinance Group as a freshman in order to build my resume, but quickly became impassioned by its work to combine student education with community development. BMG has allowed me to make real differences in the lives of local business owners while pursuing my degree. This group has taught me that business can be a platform to positively change the community, has improved many skills necessary for a successful career, and has allowed me to work with a great group of students. The time spent involved with the Bentley Microfinance Group makes up some the highlights of my college career.”

“I joined BMG because of the real-world experience and community relationships that it provides. Meeting business owners and seeing the impact that a micro-loan can have has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my time at Bentley. In addition, BMG has an extremely supportive group of alumni and advisers that help us to learn from mistakes, move forward, and grow, not only as an organization but also as individuals. I am thankful for the professional skills that I have been able to develop throughout my time in BMG, and I am excited to see what the future will bring for this unique group.”

“I was drawn to Bentley Microfinance Group because I felt that it was truly a unique organization. Being able to have a positive impact on small businesses is one of the most rewarding experiences I have had as an undergraduate at Bentley. Since joining BMG, my relationship building and networking skills, among many others, have vastly improved. These are skills that I will be able to take with me throughout the duration of my professional career, and would not have had the opportunity to develop without the experiences BMG has provided me.”
